Hi Daddy, Remember me?
We haven’t seen each other since 1963
You were my best friend even though you were my Dad
No one can replace the love that we shared
I still call your name when ever I am blue
And manage to smile as you told me to
It is always better to smile on the outside
Cry on the inside, saves your pride
Save your tears for when you can hide
Remember-no one is ever better than you
You will always be equal with whatever you do
There are rainbows way up high
Make sure you always reach way up to the sky
Your dreams can come true
Daddy, I miss you today as much as yesterday- only 45 years ago tomorrow.
Your Daddy’s Little girl always
Its amazing what an impact that parents have on their kids, good or bad. It is good to see that you had a wonderful father as I did and I imagine that you passed on his wisdom to your young’uns, as they will to theirs. When they pass on a piece of them, as your father did, you’re never without them, they are always in your heart. Thanks for a wonderful poem from your heart.
Thank you for your wonderful comment on my post, Walk. I guess I will always be “Daddy’s Little Girl” He taught me so much about human nature and how to enjoy life even at a young age. My wish that I have bestowed this wisdom to my sons and family. Thank you for your support!
