Great Afternoon

My four hour shift at the hospital gift shop flew by with lots of people coming in for holiday gifts for their loved ones at home and also for some that were patients.  Each customer had their own personal story to share with me as they picked certain gifts.  It seemed to bring a happy look to their face as they related about this or that person.  For a few that had loved ones in the hospital their stories made me catch my breath and whisper a thank you for all of my good blessings.  I think that a majority of us tend to take so much for granted and perhaps feel that we are the only ones with problems.  But it seems in this atmosphere at this time of the year I am seeing how very fragile life is and how much pain and suffering there  is out there.

It is truly remarkable to me,  how strong these people are in spite of their current situations.   I wish I had the “magic wand”  to erase all of  the bad and be able to create health and happiness for all of these people.
