Happy Monday

I decided to finally use my community pool yesterday and invited my friend Mary to join me as she is  still employed full time and loves to swim.  This gave us an opportunity to meet, catch up and relax.  Being  I am not a swimmer, I just go in the pool to get wet and then recline with a book, some music and a cold drink of water.  Being I am olive skinned and usually tan, I was never concerned about sunburn.  Never say never words came back to haunt me as the  lotion I used was a few years old and it is to be used only  in preparation for the tanning beds.  It enhances a quick dark tan.

I didn’t look at the bottle until after the damage was done.  I had red splotches on my arms, front of my legs and my hand and wrists.  I burned and the sun felt like fire on my red skin.  Today it is a darker shade of red after my putting on witch hazel and lots of  lotion to moisturize the dryness.

Mary on the other hand is blond and fair skinned and didn’t use a dab of any lotion.  She just swam around the pool and we would talk from my chair to her standing in the water,  every once in awhile.  When she saw me covering my self with my big towel in 95 degrees,  she didn’t hesitate to remind me that I had said”  Ms Millie never burns, I just tan.”   After eating my words,   I am hoping my redness will change to a nice golden tan, before I leave for my trip next weekend.  I will remember to pack my Hawaiian Tropic Sun Tan Oil that has worked for my skin in the past.
