Just Hang On

I am still singing and humming the words of memorable songs that I heard on Saturday at the Straz Center in Tampa, Fl.   The show was The Jersey Boys and the music was that of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.  The performances were fantastic and hearing  one of my favorites “Bye Bye  Baby” had me teared up as the memories came rushing in.  It is kind of a shock when you think people and events of  your life are on a back burner and forgotten.  This not true I am finding out.

Nothing is permanently gone! Just filed away for recall.

Had I known it would be this good, I would have  bought two tickets and stayed for a second show.  It was a sell out crowd and it seemed every one loved it as much as I did.

The topper to this wonderful Saturday, was the retirement party of  my good friend and Trooper with the FHP.   Ken is a kind and warm human being and has never changed in spite of the hours and stress of the job.   He always  knew when he came into my office,  there would be goodies on my desk to share.   And he loved when I  had jelly beans and he especially liked when I made brownies for the office.   So thinking of what to bring to the party none other but Kenny’s favorites came to mind.

I prepared  two treats for Kenny,  a tray of brownies and a German Chocolate cake with Coconut Pecan frosting.  As for a gift, I found a plaque that related to his love of fishing, that now he can do whenever.  And, a neat frame to hold a future picture of his big catch.

The festivities were outside on a beautiful evening and it was wonderful to see former co-workers and some of their families, too.  I loved everything about this day and hope there are more in store.

I did do a lot of Smiling:)
