Come On In…

Hello and Welcome to my first blog……I am so excited about writing and I hope I will pique your interest and get you to voice your comments. Being a Seasoned Senior who worked 30plus years as a Single Parent, I have worn lots of different hats at times, and some more than one at a time which only makes life a lot more interesting but downright stressful.

But now, I am retired and calmer, but sometimes perplexed and sometimes bored. I am looking for companionship, male or female. Friends to do things with is not that easy a task.

Therefore, I plan on writing a little of this and a little of that. Some schmaltz and some kudos. One ongoing lament is “where are all the men?” It seems the singles dances are always short of enough men to go around; or the ones that do show up act like they are going to the store. What has happened to the dress code for men? Florida living doesn’t mean flip flops / tennis shoes and jeans…….How about a nice pair of slacks and some dress shoes a colorful or white shirt? Men usually look so nice when they are dressed up. We women usually are dressed nicely. Help us out if you know where we can find nice, eligible men to dance with and fun things to do.

What about filling in those empty hours? I have started volunteering at my local school and talk about a high. Children just make me happier because of their honesty and their eager minds to learn. They are like sponges and they are so thankful when we are there for them. It makes them feel special. Also the elderly………the smiles they give you when you stop to by and say “Hi” and “How are you, today?”  It makes my whole day a lot brighter.

But then comes the evening. What to do and who to do it with? Any ideas? Looking forward to hearing from you!
