While chatting with my grandson Joey yesterday on our weekly phone conversation we were catching up on his last few weeks of school in New York.  He mentioned how hot it was and said I think it was 110!  I laughed and told him NY had warmer temperatures than Florida for a change. Then in the next breath he said, “Nana do you know my birthday is coming next week?”  I feigned surprise, it is?  I think I put a card in the mail, not sure if I put a $1 or $5 or $10 or maybe a $20 in it.  You will have to wait and see, I replied.

Giggling he agreed and then he told me that he was going to bed earlier than usual on the seventeenth so that when he woke up it would be his birthday number 9 on the eighteenth.  I can remember way back being excited by my coming birthday and so I can understand Joey being the same.  I wish you my dear grandson a wonderful Happy Birthday with lots of cake, ice-cream, balloons and fun.  Enjoy!!!
