I tell you I am still dreaming of being on the beautiful Ruby Princess cruise ship, being waited on and fed those wonderful meals. Just a wave of my hand brought me a waiter and a glass of water, iced tea or alcoholic beverage. Now I wave my hand and nothing happens. I need to get it for myself or else. The cruise with Dancers At Sea was a wonderful experience as our group of about 32 fantastic people including the dance hosts were talented, experienced patient, very patient and friendly. We danced for two hours each night in our own private party room rotating hosts and learning the different dances. I think my favorite dance is the Bolero which brought me back to many years ago of listening to “Ravel’s Bolero”. It is a very seductive, sultry dance and with the right moves it is beautiful. Ed my dance host made me look like a star.
I think I am hooked but nowhere ready to be even called a beginner ballroom dancer. Perhaps with lots of lessons and practice I may be in the category of progressing to intermediate. Time will tell.
On New Years Eve, the ship had 2009 red balloons sitting up 3 decks in a rope net waiting to be let down at the stroke of midnight. It was awesome as the orchestra started playing “Auld Lang Syne” while people milled around the steps, the main floors, the upper decks just waiting for the “moment”. Way up on the 15th deck there was champagne flowing and the screen showing Times Square and the countdown. It brought tears to everyone’s eyes as we sang, kissed and prayed and wished everyone a very Happy New Year 2009! How special. We through our streamers and then head for the dance floor to party! Party! Party! This has been a fantastic experience and I am so thankful I was able to do this cruise. It has been a dream of mine for a long time. Nice to see dreams come true….How about you?
Posting a few pictures of myself and my cruise-mate in addition to my dance hosts. Enjoy…….
