Fascinating Meeting

Tonight was my first meeting with The Clown Krewe Alley since I graduated as Sparkles back on March 13.  It was nice to see all my classmates in street clothes and try to remember our clown names.  There were so many new people to meet that have been clowning for years and the various ages are amazing.  It is proof to me that happiness can be contagious and we need lots more of  it.  I am praying for an epidemic.  What fun!

The highlight of the meeting was a Mr Charles that has been a MIME since the 1970’s and I was in awe along with the others.  He reminded me of Marcel Marceau and how wonderful miming can be.  We tried a few of his hand exercises and a walk that faintly resembled the Moon Walk.  It is a challenge and I am planning to work on an exercise or two and see if  I can perfect it.    I don’t expect it to be any time soon, but I love a challenge.

  1. I loved watching Red Skelton mime, he had so much emotion in his actions. A good mime can convey a mouthful if they are good. Good luck in learning another skill to entertain and teach with.

    1. This skill is going to be difficult to master as I have been working on one of the exercises he shared with the group. I think I will try seeing how it looks in the mirror. Dare I peek???
