Talking the Talk

Each time I am in the company of overweight single woman the conversation always comes around to questioning me.  Do I eat healthy, do I eat just to survive?  Why am I still interested in meeting a man for dating and fun?  Aren’t you kind of old to be  interested in fashion, makeup, exercise and yes even romance?  I always come back with the answers in an affirmative tense.  I love to eat and do eat- six mini meals a day.  I love clothes and makeup and jewelry and smelling great.  I love taking care of my body, exercising and keeping myself toned with smooth skin and shiny hair, and yes -I am still romantic in my tastes of music, songs, movies .  Finding that special someone to cuddle and kiss is thought of often.

Yes I am guilty of walking and talking the talk but this is me, believe it or not.  Romance has no age limit nor does looking and feeling younger than springtime.  I refuse once again to allow people to rain on MsMillie’s parade.

  1. Ah, I love a romantic. What romantic songs do you like? Some of my favorites are Etta James’ “A Sunday Kind Of Love”, Amos Lee’s “Arms of a Woman”, Little River Band “Reminiscing” and others. Romance does not have limits, age or otherwise, when two people fall in love, there is no barriers they can’t overcome. I wish for you Millie, that someone who will romance you and treat you like the princess that you are.

  2. Somewhere Over the Rainbow-Judy Garland, Memories-Barbara Streisand-You never Walk Alone-Tom Jones-Love is a Many Splendored Thing-4 Aces are just a mini view of favorite love songs that conjure a multitude of memories. Sometimes Walk,I feel like a misfit for my age. Most seniors act as if life is over and that only the young should laugh and enjoy. This brings to mind another favorite “This is My Life” sung by SHirley Bassey. See if you can listen to it on the internet. It is awesome and tells it like it is.

  3. I forgot one of my favorite love songs, “Amazed” by Lonestar. Keep it up Millie, one is only as old as one makes themself. Even if the mind is willing but the body isn’t, that shouldn’t keep one from doing something constructive. Thanks for being an example.

  4. Walk. You would love New York City with all of its performers from yesterday and today singing the most beautiful, memorable songs. There are jazz clubs, discos and above all beautiful theatres with live plays every night and two performances on Saturday afternoon and evening. Treat yourself to this wonderful experience! I agree “Amazed” is awesome.
