A few days ago, I received news from an acquaintance that a mutual friend had lost her daughter to Liver Cancer. Being out of touch with both for awhile, the news jolted me and I cried for her “loss”, knowing how painful this must be for her, for a parent to lose a child (no matter how old they are) our children are our babies forever. I purchased a Sympathy card with a heartfelt message inside, but it doesn’t seem appropriate or fitting for what she might be feeling and the message I am trying to convey.
Are there the “right words to say” other than I am sorry for your loss?
