Tomorrow will be the start of two days that will make this week exceptional beginning with the Richey Suncoast theatre featuring the famous “Frank Parsons Big Band concert”. There is ony one remaining for this season to be resumed in October for eight new shows. I have a wish that I might sing one day at one his concerts, but I think I need to continue my voice lessons and then – perhaps ask for an audition.
On Thursday I will be attending the Ombudsman thank you meeting for my five years of participation. We will have a luncheon and celebrate with the others that have also given many years of service. This is always an enjoyable afternoon.
My lucky day is Friday the 17th as my youngest son will celebrate his 40th birthday. I know it sounds corny but I can vividly recall “leaving the hospital with him nestled in my arms, with a patch of beautiful black hair peeking out of the receiving blanket”. The wonderful aroma (only babies have) and his tiny fingers and ever so soft skin are still etched in my mind. Darrin has brought me many proud moments through out his growing years and has a huge, warm and compassionate nature. My eternal wish is for his continued successes and happiness. While he celebrates his big day in New York , I will be singing publicly for the first time and surely will be thinking of him and hoping it helps with my stage fright.
I will return on Saturday and let you know how it all goes…..Wish me luck!
