I am looking forward to flying to New York on the fifteenth of this month just for a four day trip. The big day is on the 17th when my number one will be having his half century birthday. It is mind-boggling to imagine that fifty years ago I became a Mother. It is truly the most miraculous and proudest moment of my life. I can almost see that wonderful scene when they placed him at the crook of my arm, this warm and cuddly bundle of joy. He had black wavy hair covering his head and black eyes. He was and still is adorable. My son has no idea that his children are giving him this surprise party and does not expect to see me.
I have already purchased two birthday cards mentioning the big 50 and a poem for his eyes only. There is a neighborhood bakery that makes a favorite cake filled with chocolate pudding that he loves. I am thinking I will pay for a sheet cake and have it inscribed to my first born son. This is going to be a wonderful time and I can hardly wait, plus I get to see my grandchildren, great grand kids and family again. Hooray!
