Ms Millie’s Big Day

Yea for me, I celebrated my birthday today. Since childhood this has always been a biggie for me. My Dad made a big fuss when it was my birthday and Mom managed to make a cake or cupcakes in spite of the meager monies available to her. My parents did this as well with my two sisters and brother and we have continued this tradition with each other and our own families.

I started my day with wake up calls from NY and then I was off to exercise class for two hours. By noon, I was starving and I was happy to have lunch with my friend Carol. We opted for Caesar salad and a cup of soup.. Then, I was off to meet with BJ, my cruise mate to try on the gowns I would be wearing and make the necessary alterations. In between I answered many phone calls bearing birthday greetings and opening birthday and Christmas cards. It is neat celebrating both so close to each other. The United Parcel delivered flowers from my son Darrin, with a wonderful message that made “my heart sing”.

At 6pm, Mary a longtime friend picked me up and we went to Sam Seltzers restaurant for their delectable fillet mignon dinner with a complementary bottle of white wine. The waiter snapped a few photos of us celebrating!

We finished our great dinner and drove off to catch the 8pm showing of Four Christmases. It was silly and cute and just the perfect ending to a wonderful birthday for Ms Millie. Looking forward to many more!
